I just got off the phone with yet another friend still working in TV news. He's bored and frustrated with his job, as that world and what's possible to do there continues to shrink.
It was yet another reminder of how lucky I am to be doing what I'm doing and how many new and exciting opportunities continue to come my way.
I want to make you aware of a couple of them because they are things you can actually take part in, as well.
First, if you're not doing anything tomorrow, Friday, July 18th at 9am PST/noon Eastern, I hope you'll pick up your phone and give me a call.
I'm doing my first ever "teleconversation." Basically, it's a chance for you to talk to me. It's run through a company called Learn From My Life. They handle all the techy stuff that will make it possible for people all over the world to call in and ask me any question they want.
It's free. You just need to dial up the number. You can get all the info here. Meanwhile, you can can a jump on things and post questions for me right now at this page.
Tomorrow, I'll be answering questions and making an announcement about my next exciting project. Once again, it involves technology that I didn't know existed and makes possible me to spread my wings even more and bring more inspiring news to folks all around the world.
I really hope you'll call in. And shoot, if you can't think of anything to ask me, you can just listen in.
Speaking of spreading my wings, I've been getting quite a bit out of taking part in the 29 Day Gift Giving Challenge. In case you missed it, I gave you the story behing this inspiring challenge a couple days ago. You can see Cami Walker's story here.
The basic idea is that you spend 29-days giving away a gift a day. It doesn't have to be an expensive gift. It can the gift of time, love, sharing. Whatever calls you.
They suggest that you keep a journal of your gifts and observations of what is happening in your life as you up your giving. And while there are no rules, per se, they suggest that you focus on giving what feels most scarce in your life. And that you work up to giving away one thing that you think you can't live without. Sounds scary and somewhat counter-intuitive?
Yeah, I get that. However, I can tell you that I'm on Day 11 of my Give and the results are nothing short of fascinating, both in terms of what I'm learning about myself and what incredible gifts have been showing up for me.
You can learn more at 29Gifts.org.
