July 7, 2008: A High Flying Holiday

I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July Holiday.  The evening was great here in Atlanta, and the view of the fireworks from my deck, as always did not disappoint.  It's an annual treat to share that with friends.

No one had a higher holiday than Kent Couch.  He's the mini-mart owner from Bend, Oregon who follows his heart and his childhood dreams by strapping 150 helium balloons to a lawnchair and going for a ride.

I've been following Kent for some time now.  I've featured him here on the website.  And he gets his own chapter in my book, What's Possible! 50 True Stories of People Who Dared To Dream They Could Make A Difference.

Kent went for it again this weekend.  Here's the latest on his high flying dreams.

I'm not suggesting you try this at home.  No, what I love about Kent is how he's held onto that passionate, childhood dream.  How he hasn't let the world and naysayers stamp that out of him.  That's the kind of spirit we could all use in our hearts.  Let it fill yours today as full as the helium fills Kent's balloons.
